Accessibility
Effective Date: March 29, 2026
Our Commitment
Xavarro is committed to ensuring that our website and digital services are accessible to all people, including those with disabilities. We believe the web should work for everyone, and we hold ourselves to the same standard we apply when auditing our clients’ websites.
Accessibility is not a feature we bolt on at the end of a project. It is a core part of our design and development process, integrated from the earliest stages of planning through to ongoing monitoring and improvement.
As an Ontario-based business, we recognise our obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR). More than that, we recognise that roughly 22% of Canadians identify as having a disability, and every one of them deserves full, equal access to the information and services we provide.
Conformance Target
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This is the standard required under Ontario’s IASR for public-facing web content and is the level we audit our clients against.
Current Status
Our website, xavarro.com, is in active development as of March 2026. We have designed and built the site with WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance as a baseline requirement. Specific measures include:
- Semantic HTML throughout, including proper use of landmarks (
<header>,<nav>,<main>,<footer>) - Language of page declared (
lang="en") on every page - Keyboard-navigable interface with visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
- Colour contrast ratios meeting or exceeding WCAG 2.1 AA minimums (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- No minimum text size below 12px anywhere on the site, with 16px as the standard body copy minimum
- All images include meaningful alternative text; decorative images are marked with
aria-hidden="true" - Animations and transitions respect the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query - Responsive design that reflows content at narrow viewports without requiring horizontal scrolling
- Skip-to-content links for keyboard and screen reader users
- Form fields include associated labels and appropriate
autocompleteattributes
Applicable Standards and Legislation
Our accessibility practices are guided by the following standards and legislation:
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA – Published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), WCAG provides the internationally recognised framework for making web content accessible. Level AA is the conformance tier required by most accessibility legislation worldwide.
- Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA) – Ontario legislation establishing accessibility standards across multiple sectors, with the goal of a fully accessible province by 2025. Maximum penalties for non-compliance: up to $100,000 per day for corporations, up to $50,000 per day for individuals and directors/officers.
- Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR) – The regulation under AODA that specifies information and communications accessibility requirements, including the obligation for public-facing web content to conform to WCAG 2.0 Level AA (with WCAG 2.1 AA as the current best practice standard).
- Ontario Human Rights Code – Provides the right to equal treatment without discrimination based on disability, which extends to the provision of goods, services, and facilities, including digital services.
What We Do
Accessibility is maintained through ongoing practices, not a one-time audit. The following measures are part of our standard operating procedures:
Design and Development
- Accessibility requirements are included in our component design system from the outset, not retroactively applied
- All interactive components are tested for keyboard operability before being considered complete
- Colour choices are validated against WCAG contrast ratios during the design phase, not after build
- We do not use colour as the sole means of conveying information
Testing
- Automated accessibility scans using Lighthouse, axe, and WAVE as part of our build and review process
- Manual keyboard-only navigation testing across all pages
- Screen reader testing (VoiceOver, NVDA) for critical user flows
- Browser zoom testing at 200% and 400% to verify text resize and content reflow
- WCAG text spacing override testing using bookmarklet tools
- Contrast verification using browser DevTools and dedicated contrast checkers
Ongoing Monitoring
- Our own AI Visibility Audit Engine evaluates AODA/WCAG compliance as one of four scoring dimensions, and we run it against our own site
- New content and components are reviewed for accessibility before deployment
- This accessibility statement is reviewed and updated at least annually, or whenever significant changes are made to the site
Known Limitations
We strive for full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, but we are transparent about areas where work is ongoing:
- PDF reports: Audit reports generated as PDF documents may not yet meet full PDF/UA (Universal Accessibility) standards. We are working to improve the accessibility of generated PDF content. In the meantime, the same information is available through our accessible web-based dashboard.
- Third-party embedded content: Some content embedded from third-party services (such as scheduling widgets or video players) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. We select third-party tools with accessibility in mind and advocate for improvements where gaps exist.
- Mobile optimisation: A comprehensive mobile accessibility pass is in progress. While the site is responsive and functional on mobile devices, some touch target sizes and spacing may not yet meet the enhanced requirements of WCAG 2.5.5 (Target Size, Level AAA) on all screen sizes.
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our site that is not listed above, we want to know about it. Please see the next section for how to report issues.
Reporting a Barrier

- Email: support@xavarro.com
- Phone: +1.249.532.2440
- Mail: Xavarro, 2 East John St., Cookstown, ON L0L 1L0, Canada – Attn: Accessibility
What to Include
To help us investigate and resolve the issue as quickly as possible, please include:

- A description of what you were trying to do and what happened
- The device, browser, and any assistive technology you were using
- Your preferred method of contact so we can follow up
Our Response
We will acknowledge receipt of your report within two business days. We will provide an initial assessment and, where applicable, a timeline for resolution within ten business days. If the issue requires a longer remediation period, we will explain why and provide interim alternatives where possible.
Third-Party Content
Our website may link to or embed content from third-party services. While we choose our technology partners with accessibility in mind, we cannot guarantee that all third-party content meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Where we are aware of third-party accessibility limitations, we note them in the Known Limitations section above and work with providers to advocate for improvements.
If you encounter an accessibility issue with third-party content on our site, please report it to us using the contact information above. We will determine whether we can resolve the issue directly or need to escalate it to the third-party provider.
Review and Updates
This accessibility statement was last reviewed and updated on March 29, 2026.
We review this statement at least once per year, and update it whenever we make significant changes to our website, resolve a previously reported barrier, or become aware of new limitations. The revision history is maintained internally as part of our compliance documentation.
